Course Focus

• Strong focus on plant identification (being able to recognize plants)
• Emphasis on plants that are available in the nursery trade (with some exceptions)
• Note: Local Flora is covered in detail in EEOB 210
• The language of plants (names, terminology)
• Visual characteristics (size, form, color, texture)
• Appropriate usage of plants in the designed landscape

People who design a landscape are essentially creating an 'environment' (developing / manipulating an outdoor site) for a specific purpose in which a client can live, work, and relax. Regardless of the site or purpose, plants play a key role - though they are not always predominant
