Texture: Soil Types

1. Coarse textured soils are designated as sands.

2. Medium textured soils are loams.

3. Fine textured soils are called clays.

4. Soils are classified according to the dominant particle type.

5. Loams contain sand, silt, and clay in specific proportions.
