My career goals are
divided into two catagories, long-term and short-term.
After I
graduate in the spring, I plan to go back to school to get
my Masters degree, either in Extension or Education. My long
term career gaols are to be employed in a teaching
profession, possibly High School Social Studies, and to
recieve a PHD.

Employment
History
-Currently,
I am a tutor for The Office of Disability Services for The
Ohio State University. Last summer, I completed an intership
in Cleveland at The Cleveland Botanical garden, studying
Horticulture Therapy. This experience involved me in many
different projects, including running therapy sessions at
The Cleveland Clinic, leading groups of senior citizens and
at-risk-youth in urban gardening programs, and teaching
classes about Horticulture at local grade schools. During
seven other summers, I was a camp counselor at 4-H Camp
Ohio, in Utica Ohio. During the summer of 1994, I was the
High Ropes Specialist for the camp. This was a staff
position in which I would lead groups of eight to fifteen
youth or adults through an obsticle course suspended 30-40
feet in the air. There was a very-real risk of danger
involved, and I had to be a good communicator and supervisor
at all times.

The Ohio State
University
BS in Agriculture,
expected graduation date: Spring 1998
Columbus, Ohio
Currently, I am finishing my sixth
year of school studying Horticulture at The Ohio State
University.
Some of the Horticulture calsses I
have taken concern Plant Identification, Nursery Management,
and Landscape Design. I especially enjoyed a class on the
history of Horticulture. This helped me to see our roots and
understand better where we are heading. My minor at Ohio
State is Education. This better prepares me to go into the
field of Extension or pursue my Socual Studies Education
degree.

OSUMB
For four years, I was a
member of The Ohio State University Marching Band. This was
a fantastic experience for many reasons. This was a major
comitment, consuming approximatly 30 hours a week. It was
due to thiscommitment that I was forced to make time for my
studies and learn to budget my time to maximum effect.
