What would a 4th of July celebration be without sparklers (above and below) and a watermelon seed-spitting contest (left)? [This last one was lost on our English friends... perhaps they don't regret losing the American colonies after all]
The sparklers were brilliantly provided by our own Kelly who thoughtfully brought them along from the 'States. I am told that later that evening there was a memorable sparkle show by Troy (it was too late for me), but if the picture below center is any indication, it must have been quite an act...
