We ended our
tour of Bodnant Gardens rather famished. Well, at least some of
us were famished. So on our way to Llandudno we stopped at a fish and
chips shop and had a meal. Matt was HUNGRY! So he ordered the chef's challenge,
which was a huge piece of deep-fried cod, chips (fries) and 'mushy peas.'
The chef's challenge was that anyone who finished such a voluminous meal
would get a free dessert...
Matt rose to the challenge! Above, the poor victim (that is, the cod) and at right, the conqueror. He even ate the mushy peas! (Mother Van Druten, your son did you proud!). I did notice that on the way back, for the very first time in all our travels, Matt was so full that he did not even fall asleep in the van. Now that's a meal!
