PAVING

We spread about an inch of sand on top of the hardcore sub-base. Each paver was laid on blobs of sand and cement mix dropped onto the screeded sand surface. The paver was then tapped down to the required level (set by a string stretched across the site).

It seemed to take forever to get the first pavers in and there was time for some of us to work on our individiual projects or just hang out!

However things really got moving after lunch. people were able to work both ways from the first line of pavers and by the end of the afternoon we felt pretty good about what we had accomplished and more confident that we could finish the job within the few days left.
